We come now to the life-area that rules our social life and group-participation, and our “hopes and wishes” for a better future. The sign on the cusp, the ruler of the house and any planets in the 11th, these represent how we will seek social intercourse - the friendships we make, the groups and organisations we join because we have an affinity with the ideals they espouse and we want to put our achievements to use.
For the average person, this house represents the social customs and norms of the day that the average person participates in when interacting with others on a social level. But if our tenth house experience was difficult, if we did not achieve the status and respect we craved, then in the 11th we will express our dissatisfaction, by rebelling, by becoming a revolutionary. Our social life then will revolve around interactions with people that similarly share our dissatisfaction and activist schemes or projects to make these dissatisfactions known to the public mind.
The higher goal of the eleventh house is to help us develop group skills and to find our soul-group, a humanitarian organisation through which we can work with greater effect and power than we could on our own; to serve world need.
