The ninth house represents the higher collective mind of humanity, the vault of knowledge and wisdom that has been produced and the teaching of this wisdom so that all can become wise and moral world-citizens. For example, universities, academic life, lecturers and professors; formal religions, religious life and priests; world philosophies and philosophers.
On a personal level, it rules those efforts we make to broaden our understanding about people and foreign cultures, the religious/ spiritual orders or topics we will be drawn to, as well as the religious beliefs and morals that we generally hold about life and the world.
The sign on the cusp, the ruler of the house and any planets in the 9th, colour our attitudes. They represent the experiences we will have in our search for wisdom, the nature of our voyage of discovery and the wise people we meet that help us to grow. For those who venture into the esoteric, Eastern teachings on the nature of “soul” and practices such as meditation and Raja Yoga will be found and applied.
The ninth house generally, gives the soul an opportunity to expand consciousness and broaden beliefs so that we will be more inclusive and tolerant towards all people's in the world, to all races and their cultures and religions.
