5b. Venus in the Houses.
Venus' house is an area of life that we can beautify with kindness and intelligent interactions. It is also a place that love and wisdom may be found.
Venus in 1. The image that people see is one of charm, grace and beauty. There may be preoccupations with the appearance - body and weight, how to attract lovers or money. The task is to transform consciousness so that it resembles the beauty of Venus. This is achieved by training the mind to look for the good and beautiful in people, to be kind and sensitive and express one's inner beauty through beautiful thoughts, words and actions. This in turn will bring back, abundant love and appreciation.
Venus in 2. Venus in the house of money can manifest as a love of luxury, possessions, money, beauty and art. At the higher level, the task is to beautify our values and attitudes to money and to bring these into right balance with our spiritual ethics. It is important also, to be clear about the principles that we want to live our lives by and to honour these and express them. Loving and appreciating life's bounties and blessings and sharing what we have with others, this will bring life abundance flowing back in return. People will love the beauty and values expressed.
Venus in 3. With the planet of love in the third house, we are being asked to follow Christ's commandment - “love thy neighbour as thyself.” The task is to communicate beauty through thoughts and words - not only to those contacted in the environment, but to the wider community at large. Learning to think good thoughts and speaking only when there is something kind or positive to say, is the golden rule. We will be rewarded by attracting people into the life who will speak with love and sincerity about us in return. This placement gives the power to express beauty in writings and speech.
Venus in 4. The task is to radiate intelligent love within the family unit and home and to create family relationships that are mutually appreciative and honest. For instance, speaking with kindness and positivity and being respectful and fair. This is especially important if house rules have been broken. Taking a little extra time to explain why and how the rules contribute to family harmony, while also showing family members they are valued and appreciated - this will be rewarded by attracting love in return from the family. Venus in the 4th indicates being surrounded by beauty and joy at the end of life.
Venus in 5. This combination gives talent in the arts, the ability to craft beautiful creations and to bring joy to the lives of others - not only with artistic presentations, but with the beauty of the love we have to share. The task is to be kind and intelligently loving with children and romantic partners. As we express ourselves in this way, loving and talented people (many will be children), will be attracted into the life and give unconditional love in return.
Venus in 6. The goal is to express intelligent-love in the working life, to share wisdom and expertise with co-workers and clients and to think kind thoughts and speak wise words. Developing work skills to do this is another part of this placement - for instance, becoming a counsellor or human-resources officer. As we learn to handle everyday problems in such a manner, insecurities about being worthy will gradually heal, benefitting personal relationships and overall health. Otherwise, problems with the throat, thyroid or urinary tract could arise. True love may be found at work.
Venus in 7. The Goddess of Love is asking those with this placement, to demonstrate intelligent-love in all important partnerships. This means showing our appreciation, being honest and fair, thinking good thoughts about the partner and being always respectful. Another important goal is to end relationships kindly and leave former partners with their respect intact so they do not turn into enemics. Insecurities about being “lovable” will heal as these inner changes are made, giving the skills necessary to build beautiful, intimate unions.
Venus in 8. Transformation is required - any emotional traumas that exist should be healed, the way sexual energy is used refined, and the value placed on other people's money or rights needs adjusting. The mind must be beautified, freed from unhealthy imaginings and healthy self-love and self-appreciation should be cultivated. These changes will help bring inner peace. Venus in the 8th can foster a love of the mysterious and esoteric. It also indicates love may be found in a mysterious manner or while attending to one's self-healing.
Venus in 9. This placement encourages a search for wisdom. Firstly, by studying the Ageless Wisdom - the writings and teachings that contribute to the beautification of the collective mind and that teach universal oneness and fellowship. Secondly, by reaching out beyond one's own race, religion and culture so that a wiser understanding is gained of all the people of the world and their cultures. This combination gives the potential to become learned and to teach wisdom to others. Love may be found in a foreign place or with someone from another culture.
Venus in 10. The goal is to express intelligent love and beauty in the profession or important life work and to use one's influence to bring about greater fairness and justice in the world. If success in the world is gained, then from that position of prominence, publicly share beautiful thoughts and demonstrate kind actions. In return, love, beauty and wisdom will flow back, especially from influential people and authority figures. The love of one's life may be someone prominent in the community or who shares important life work.
Venus in 11. The task is to beautify our friendships and the groups and organisations we belong to. This is achieved by being kind and fair with our associates, becoming an inspirational and visionary force so that people by association will feel their lives enhanced and beautified. If this is done, the reward will be to attract people who will love and value us for our finer qualities, people with whom beautiful and enduring friendships can be formed. Lovers will also be friends.
Venus in 12. Love and affection are expressed quietly, behind the scenes. For instance, a love of nature, of solitude, perhaps even a very private love-affair. Adversely, there may be an attraction to psychically unhealthy people or to cults where the sex function is misused. If there is a problem with giving and receiving love, if there are negative thoughts about being unlovable; healing at a very deep level is required. In this case, a therapist, guide or teacher should be sought to help lift one's thoughts to the good and beautiful. Sometimes, Venus in the 12th points to love being found in the most unexpected places or ways.
