With the coming Age of Aquarius many individuals are searching for sound directives that both qualify and quantify one’s Divine relationship with the soul. In this modern age, this process can be embraced through a natural and focused modality known as Spiritual Initiation. This format of this paper strives to clarify this directive.

Section One: The Purpose of Initiation

I. Initiation defined

No true investigator of the Ageless Wisdom is asked to give blind adherence to any presentation of truth; he is asked, however, to have an open mind and seriously to weigh and consider the theories and ideals, the laws and the truths which have guided so many out of darkness into the light of Knowledge and experience. (TWM 6)

The modern syntax for Initiation as per Random House Dictionary: ‘beginning, the introduction of Knowledge upon a subject and the introduction of an individual into the membership of a group.’¹ These terms are both coherent and educational, however, they fail to address man as a conscious beingembodied with a Soul and Spirit. New Age Wisdom strives to present the Knowledge which enables man to evolve from an egocentric personality towards a Soul-infused personality.

The principles of the Initiatory process require a movement from lower states of consciousness embedded in the world of form, to higher states of consciousness which encompasses both the lower world of nature and the higher world of Spirit. It is a mandate driven by energy expressing through the Cosmic Physical Universe and the Seven Rays before the Throne of God. Each Rays reflects a Plane of Energy containing Qualities of Light whose purpose is to evolve God Consciousness.

Today, millions of people are feeling the magnetic pull of the Soul as it strives to reunite with its Monad. The Monad is the God Particle embedded in man and seeking expression upon the Physical Plane as Heavenly Man. This process once begun is called the Commencement.

The entire objective of the initiation preparatory process is to bring about revelation. You must ever bear in mind that that which is revealed is eternally present. (TWM 144)

II. Personality-Soul Fusion

As stated in DINA II, p. 275, DK reveals: ‘Taking into consideration your Ray and type, it is to infuse your personality with Soul energy,’ this affirms a key directive in relation to understanding ourselves as a dynamic energy system operating within the Cosmic Physical Universe. The Wisdom Teachings further reveal man to be a confluence of Seven Rays types, Soul types, personality types, etheric/physical vehicle types, astral/emotional vehicle types and mental body types. This is the ‘man in being’. Each Ray is impressed with the Qualities and Attributes ascribed to Principles and Laws of the Universe. The ultimate goal is for all types to flow in synthesis and cooperation as One Unit expressing its Monadic being.

The Cosmic Physical Universe flows as a Ray Two Quality, that of Love-Wisdom. For it is Love as the measure of compassion and group synthesis which magnetically draws us into Union with God’s Divine Plan. We attain a measure of personality Soul-fusion when we accept that the personality is a confluence of energies emanating from an incarnating Soul who seeks balance and stability in the world of form. In this process the unevolved personality must embrace three things of note:

1. How to control the etheric/physical, astral and lower concrete mind through Will in order to enter the Balance of Duality.

2. Acquire the Wisdom to understand and accept the Reality of the Vibration of Love as one of Service and Synthesis.

3. Create through esoteric Knowledge, adequate and healthy thoughtforms to bring into manifestation the Seeds of Creative Intelligence.

Forget not that when a man is living as a Soul and his entire personality is therefore subordinated to that Soul, unselfish purpose, purity of life, conformity to law and the setting of a true example of Spiritual living will normally and automatically follow. (TWM 197)

Section Two: Consciousness in Evolution

As the Arc of Consciousness flows into the Seventh and final Plane of the Cosmic Physical Plane, man is embedded within the womb of matter and the Germ of the Seed Idea of God begins to flourish. All sheaths for the epoch to the Source are viable, yet still unconscious of Creation. The directive for the ‘human in being ‘to substantiate existence within the scheme of Life slowly unfolds.

Each of these three races, in a mysterious manner, has a correspondence on a racial scale to the first three initiations. (RI 356)

I. Lemurian Consciousness

The Lemurian Consciousness of man was predominantly based upon the gathering of impressions linked to the physical body and its outer world experience. Early Lemurians reacted to the absorption and distribution of Pranic energy, the Life force that sustains this Universe. The genetic influence was to lead man into consciousness as a sensory being, with little emotional feeling other than that of the pleasure/pain principle. Mental agility was regulated to sense impressions seeking adaptations concerning physical survival. Material acquisition and selfishness predominated as survival of the fittest and herd mentality flourished. There was no personality as such at this stage, only instinct.

As with all Rounds and Races, there are those within any era who are more evolved towards the seeking of Knowledge beyond the normal bounds and rings-pass-nots of average consciousness. Lemurians, those on the cusp of an Atlantean incarnation began to Teach and Illumine a chosen few to carry forward the Spiritual Teachings of the Ancients. Initiates were taught, orally and secularly, control of the physical body and appetites, whilst applying techniques to stimulate and feather the Heart Center in order to activate the astral body and its Soul nature. These Initiates rode the cusp of enlightenment towards the illumination of astral Light and an expanding mental body.

II. Atlantean Consciousness

In Atlantean days, the goal that the Hierarchy of Teachers set before Themselves was the awakening in man of the love nature, as a step towards the awakening of the heart Centre. (TWM 179)

In accordance with the Divine Plan; uneducated and instinctual man was drawn up the ladder of consciousness, (Omnipotence in Reflection), with the subsequent energizing of the etheric centers within the etheric/ physical body. As Atlanteans we became responsive to vibrations emanating from

the three lower Planes of Nature, however, there still remained negligible input from the Rays of intelligent application, (Rays 3 – 5 – 7). The Atlantean Race was stimulated by the influx of Ray Six – Devotion and Idealism, revealing its epoch as the urge to feel and express Love. Desire to attain all that is good is embraced positively by the emotions and all that is not understood as ‘pleasure’ is surrounded and crystalized by thoughtforms that regulate negative emotional energy unto the denser regions of the Astral Plane. Man becomes versed in a Devotion that affirms Power, and turns a blind eye to that which does not meet the selfish needs of the unevolved personality. The Soul meanwhile stands as Observer, gazing in spell-bound Wonder at these convolutions of energy.

The pleasure/pain principle soon exuded a negative balance in the cyclic energy of life, and like a malevolent cloud, vibrations arising from conditional love, and hate, began too multiple in frequency and dominate the lower Astral Plane. Balance sighs in repose and a rent in the Veil between the world of form and formless pulsates throughout the Universe. Behooved to humanity, the rent in the Veil allowed the dark forces of the Black Lodge and Brotherhood to anchor itself within the astral world, and we, humans, provided the nourishment for its sustenance. This became the beast created from our selfish illusions and glamour’s. Yet in equal measure the Soul’s Song flew unabated upon the Winds of Time.

“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own.” (1 Corinthians 6:9)

Atlanteans of a superior intelligence and Mystical nature, began to enter the Halls of Learning, undertaking Initiations of a higher degree than in Lemurian times. Disciples and Initiates were mandated to promulgated Love through the activation of the Heart Center. To this decree they flowed upon the vein of Mysticism which was absent in Lemurian schools. Another phase of Hierarchal impulse saw the advent of Initiation as per a group Platform of Seven, rather than singular Initiations. Control of the desire nature within the astral body became the culmination of the Second Initiation. At this point, the Third Ray of Creative Intelligence began to infiltrate the Atlantean Consciousness.

The Atlantean era drew to a close with a massive shift of Cosmic Energy, leaving man with a physical body which reveals its true purpose, that as the repository for the Soul’s expression upon the Physical Plane.

Towards the middle of the Atlantean cycle (untold millions of years ago) the influence of the third Ray of Active Intelligence became exceedingly potent. Certain of the advanced humanity of the period gradually found their way on to, or rather into, the stream of divine energy which we call the third Ray. The possibility, therefore, of their becoming integrated personalities was for the first time recognized, and humanly recognized. Such an integration must ever precede conscious human initiation. III. Aryan Consciousness

In our more modern Aryan Race, the light has revealed the world of thought and has brought us to a synthesis of the senses; these senses were developed in earlier cycles of human living. (RI 356)

Another upward arc of the evolutionary spiral enters manifestation and with full force the Mental Energy of Ray Five emanates from the Mental Plane. The Qualities of this Ray Lord, that of Science and

Concrete Knowledge hits man like a thunderbolt. The mandate, nay Law of the Aryan Race, is to use the Mind Principle of God to enter the world of thought and begin to think.

The head center of the etheric/physical body opens the portals and vortexes onto the Mental Plane, that, coupled with the Love Aspect of the Heart Center and the Creative Aspect of the Throat Center, reveals much, much more than the human condition has hitherto experienced.

The Call of the Hierarchy blares through the Trumpets of the Ray Lords and man is being asked to take their rightful place as per the Divine Plan. This is the Call to Unity that every Soul flows upon, for without Unity, the continuity of Life ceases. The Lemurians endeavored to answer the Call through a Physical Initiation, the Atlanteans through an Astral Initiation, now the Aryan Race is well equipped to stand forward and enter the full spectrum of the Initiatory Journey. This is through the Mental Plane control required to bridge the gap between the lower form world and the higher world of Spirit. Ignorance and ineptitude no longer hold sway as millions of average people either consciously or subconsciously enter the stage of the Probationary Path towards Initiation. As stated in Ageless Wisdom: ‘the Spiritual opportunity is, however, emerging with increasing clarity in the minds of thinking men and women, even if it is not expressed by them in orthodox (so-called) terms or in recognized or Spiritual terms’. (RI 396)

The doors leading to the Third Initiation begin to open. Yet, this task is enormous for once the mental principle is involved, we begin to question everything and in that role, initially, through lack of Knowledge and Wisdom, the personality will dominate and overshadow the Light of the Soul. Ageless Wisdom seeks to shed light on this anomaly through a ‘forced Initiation’ that requires the Aspirant and Disciple to begin to learn how to think, by using both brain and mind to explore, experiment, hypothesize, theorize, create, break down, eliminate and eventually apply the precepts of New Age Wisdom to Life. Individuals are collectively guided as a Group Unit to taking their rightful place within the Ashrams of the Hierarchy.

It is through the use of the mental apparatus that we are able to discriminate between the pairs of opposites and thereby enter the Balance needed to become a Soul-infused personality. Master DK and Alice Bailey repeatedly affirm the importance and significance of Knowledge and control of thoughtform creation as the platform for Aryan Initiation.

“The place and effect of Initiation. The ceremony of initiation takes place on the three higher sub-planes of the Mental Plane, and on the three higher Planes, according to the initiation.” (IHAS 10)

Section Three: The Call to Initiation

The Permanent Atoms

Formed through the Law of Attraction and Repulsion, a permanent atom is akin to a great magnet with the Spark of Mind embedded within its Center. Its rotation is cyclic, ceaselessly spiraling, twirling, flowing through space, absorbing that which serves Light energy and repulsing that which threatens its permanence, until such a time as it becomes reabsorbed into the Mind of God. The Plane it resides upon is the anchor for its expression, and as man is part and parcel of all Planes, it anchors within our being

Aspects and Attributes of Divine Principles linked to a variety of Planes. It presents the substrate that entails the sheaths essential for consciousness expression and expansion.

Each Permanent Atom is a part of the Whole, not apart from the Whole, and interpenetrates all other Permanent Atoms. The degree of consciousness within the energetic sphere of its rotation is only accessed when the Antahkarana(bridge) is formulated as an entry point into that Planes’ consciousness.

For instance, the Physical Permanent Atom will briefly touch the periphery of the Manasic atom in undeveloped man, more so in the awakening man and with an equal measure in the highly evolved man. Just so, the Mental Unit and Astral Permanent Atom will scribe and pulsate an energetic consciousness upon the Physical permanent atom, in part as a measure to stimulate and bring into expression the commencement of the Soul Journey.

It must be noted that on the Path of Discipleship the lower Eighteen Sub-Planes concern the Physical, Astral and Mental Unit. It is not until the commencement of the Third Initiation, that the Egoic Lotus and Manasic Permanent Atom come into potent activation, introducing portals to the Spiritual Triad and its higher Initiations.

I. Physical Permanent Atom

Upon the Road of Initiation, the forced mental focus towards character reformation and personality control, serve to stimulate the Physical atom through a process known as ‘fire by friction’. In consequence the Physical body becomes sensitized to the incoming vibrations flowing from the Mental Unit. Etheric/physical impressions ranging from pleasure to unease, affirms to the Aspirant that something beyond their normal range of experience is occurring as a result of their Spiritual efforts.

More often than not, the personality who deems itself ‘keeper of the form’ will either become glutinous in its pursuit for stimulation, or frightened from misinterpreting the energy and may strive to quench the fires with the cold pragmatic waters of repulsion. The goal of all Aspirants is to learn how to incorporate the energies flowing into the awakened physical brain and Central Nervous System, whilst learning control and detachment towards resultant phenomena. One of the key elements a student of the Ageless Wisdom must accept is that the physical body is only a form molded by the etheric body and it is not the physical body which ‘feels’ per say, but rather the energetic systems within the etheric body.

The function of the Physical Permanent Atom is to receive and transmit vibratory Rays and frequencies traveling from the Egoic Lotus to the etheric body, to be absorbed into the physical form, in order for the Will, Love and Intelligence to enter physical manifestation.

II. Astral Permanent Atom

The Astral Permanent Atom resides in the first Sub-Plane of the Astral Plane at the mid-way point between the physical and Mental Unit. As the Physical atom is the embodiment of the etheric/physical sheath, the Astral atom is the embodiment of the corresponding astral sheath. Upon Plane Six, the Astral atom receives more impulses from the Monad than either the Physical atom or Mental Unit due to its correspondence to the Buddhic Plane. The impulse of

Desire as related to Idealism and Devotion becomes the impetus that serves to stir the Astral Permanent Atom and the petals within the Egoic Lotus, upon the Mental Plane.

Within the Astral Permanent Atom reside the Akashic records, repository’s for the blueprints and imprints of all past and present lives, plus the possibilities and probabilities for future lives. From this great depository the incarnated Soul, in compliance to Hierarchal decree draws its life mandates, form and purpose. The goal is for the astral sheath to meld with the etheric sheath of the physical form, adding energy and impetus towards the activation of the mental body in both the lower concrete mind and the higher abstract mind. Before this can be done the muck and mire of astral detritus must be cleared and the Reality of Love, Devotion and Idealism embraced with Purity of Heart.

III. The Mental Unit

Students of the Ageless Wisdom strive to study and practice the energy dynamics within the Mental Plane. This Plane is comprised of a multi -fold energy system to which both the burgeoning personality and Soul must acquiesce. The use of thoughtforms as positive energetic principles is key to unlocking the doorway to the Lotus. The Soul utilizes the substance and substrate – gaseous in nature – of the mental Permanent Atom to form both the lower and higher mind. This also allows for the free-flow of energy within the Triad of the lower Mental Unit, the Egoic Lotus, and the Manasic Permanent Atom to affect and influence the Personality.

From the lower Mental Plane, we learn how to think, reason, analyze and act in the world of matter. This is Knowledge. From the Egoic Lotus we learn how to apply Will, Love and Sacrifice in order to reflect Light. This is Love. From the higher Mental Plane, we learn how to discriminate and bring balance to all pairs of opposites. This is Wisdom.

I float upon waves of time

IV. Manasic Permanent Atom

The Physical, Astral, and Mental Unit are interconnected and flow within the Eighteen Sub Planes of the Physical Universe. It is not until these three Units, along with the reformed personality and the Solar Angel, residing within the Egoic Lotus, flow in synthesis, that the Manasic Permanent Atom can be utilized to is full measure. All Aspirants and Disciples who have not undergone the Third Initiation will work chiefly with the Mental Unit on Plane Five. This is due to the fact that the energetic force of the Egoic Lotus when entering the vibration of the Manasic atom, will catapult an Initiate directly into the higher realms of the Spiritual triad, introducing energy that can result in serious detrimental consequences to the unprepared. It is

from this higher etheric substrate that the Solar Angel begins to formulate the Causal Body as the sheath for entrance and experience within the Buddhic Plane.

V. Buddhic Permanent Atom

Located on the Fourth Plane, Sub-Plane Twenty-two, it is the apex for the formation of the Intuitional vehicle comprised of energies from the fourth ethers. This is related and expressed as the God Principle which stands alone in its Reality, on an energetic level felt as a Knowing that brooks no interference. The Buddhic Permanent Atom forms the central apex which unites both the Manasic and Atmic Permanent Atom to the Spiritual Triad. At this point in the Initiation process the Initiate is beginning to move from a conscious state of awareness to a Spiritual state of Being. This in preparation for the Monadic state of Being which is independent of consciousness as a state of awareness.

VI. Atmic Permanent Atom

Located on the Third Plane, Sub-plane Fifteen, it is the apex for the formation of the mass of energy comprised from the Third Cosmic Ethers. Here resides the Will of Spirit, as a group formation tapping into all levels of consciousness, ranging from the dense physical to the extreme subtleness of the Monadic Plane.

VII. Monadic Permanent Atom

The Monadic Permanent Atom is the Triad containing the Three Aspects of God. Will- Power. Love-Wisdom. Activity-Intelligence. Let none rent the Veil asunder until they have proven themselves Equitable in the Eyes of God.

All these Permanent Atoms can be described as ‘Seeds of Creation’ which the Soul draws upon too free itself -and the personality – from the grasp of the Lunar Lords who hold the Soul in bondage.

Section Four: Stages of Initiation

Everyone enters the Initiation process as Aspirants, then continue the Journey into Discipleship pressing ever forwards until the Initiate is revealed. These stages are succinctly termed, the Aspirant as the highly evolved man who feels the Call of Soul, yet is unable to sing its Refrain. It truly begins as the Path of Probation in which we undergo the tests and vigor that will further mark our Journey. Discipleship occurs when the Aspirant enters Spiritual Unity in order to focus on character reformation and Soul fusion. The Initiate is not truly revealed until after the Third Initiation, which takes place on the Mental Plane, however the First and Second Initiation must comply with the Principles and Laws of God before the next stage is brought into Light. Each of these processes will only move forward by an expansion of our consciousness nature, each must be entered on an individual basis, and each requires the following: desire for change, freedom, joy and of great import, desire to serve the nature of their Soul.

It is interesting to note that Master DK has stated that incarnated Souls within the Aryan Race have completed the Path of Probation and Discipleship; entered the testing grounds of the First Initiation, moved on to the grueling jaws of the Second Initiation and are quite capable, through a forced mental focus to enter the Third Initiation. They are not required to ‘know’ everything. They are required to cooperate with the Soul’s impulse, and as a result, much like osmosis, the Rules of Right Conduct will begin to reflect in everyday life. Initially, there may be little understanding as to how this process plays out, however, when the study of Esoteric Knowledge is embraced, the pieces of the puzzle begin to come together and the Laws and Principles of the Universe make rational sense. This is the impetus which drives us ever forward upon the Journey. It does not come easy, for each Initiation has its rewards, and in stark contrast, seemingly arduous tests.

I. The First Initiation – The Disciple

Plane: Lower Eighteen Sub-Planes, primarily Physical

Outcome: Relationships

The First Initiation requires that the Initiate, as an evolving personality, begins to work within the Physical world of form and its related forces. A resolution to step from the Path of Probation to the Path of Discipleship qualifies as the catalyst in which the awaiting Soul begins to descend via the newly stimulated Antahkarana in order to illumine both the brain and the consciousness of the Disciple. This presents a tableau in which the personality is Soul-infused to a quarter degree turn on the spiral of consciousness evolution. The Law of Attraction and Repulsion flows down the annuals of time/space to further propel and stimulate the Disciples as they begin the Earnest Journey.

Through an unevolved personality we affirm relationships as yet infantile in their birth. Setting the stage for future forays into the unknown begins here and order is paramount in bringing our experiences into balance. In our Quest, energy influxes of a startling and voluminous degree can easily sweep the Initiate off their feet. The Sacral chakra begins to spin, pulsating, swirling, clearing, drawing, dispensing, in short,

healing from all present and past imbalances of etheric imprints embedded in the physical Permanent Atom. We are clearing house, albeit the tests are vague and seductively dangerous, for as the incoming energy serves to stimulate the Sacral center, the inflow spills over into the surrounding chakras – Base of-Spine and Solar Plexus. However, disquieting this scenario there also presents a mitigating energy directly from the Throat Center which does much to soothe and assuage Sacral discord. Hence, we use our voice and whatever degree of creative intelligence birthed by our illusions, to force, validate, and present our Spiritual mandate. Twenty-five percent, or more, of what we strive to elucidate, does contain Soul Light and this is enough to soften the blow of erroneous perceptions.

It is only when all the tests which have been slathered upon the terrain of our ego fail to appease our yearning for Soul connection, that we accept that although the Mystical way leads to Nirvana, it is a fleeting state, exhaustive in its demands and upkeep. It is often through the school of hard knocks and

endless ring-pass-nots of our own making, that we exhaust our energetic systems, on all levels, capitulate, then finely take a Breath – and Listen.

This Initiation is supported by Ray Seven, Ceremonial Order and Magic, and its purpose is to instill in physical form consciousness the order and rhythm we require as we enter the cycle of Spiritual evolution. it entails a clearing and restructuring of the etheric/physical vehicle as we release from all illusions as to how matter and Spirit relate to the material world. We can now begin to learn about the Cosmic Physical Universe and the role of the Seven Major Centers and how our personality, with its three lower vehicles (etheric/physical, astral, mental) responds to Energy.

This Initiation is directly stimulated from the higher astral force which draws us towards the magnetic resonance of its desire nature. We ‘yearn’ to love and as a result undergo inner contemplation, signaling the preparation for the Second Initiation. However, outside forces and factors still dominant the personality nature and interpersonal relationships are sought drawing the Disciple towards those whom he/she feels are needed to promote further Spiritual growth. In truth, more often than not, these innocent and early relationships prove challenging, for upon entering the Halls of Learning, if a Disciple has open mind, a steady heart and keen quest for Knowledge, rings-pass-nots will have to be surpassed, leading to much change in the arena of relationships. This has its positive notes as we become stimulated via the Mental Unit as to the true purpose of relationships and its role in humanity’s evolution. Materialism and physical desires are challenged, and slowly we begin to move from a Mystical experience to an Occult experience as too what constitutes Christ Consciousness.

“The “new man” who has come to birth at the first initiation must and will tread the occult or scientific way, which inevitably leads him out of the world of mysticism into the scientific and assured perception of God as life or energy.” (RI 357)

II. The Second Initiation – The Disciple

Plane: Lower Eighteen Sub-Planes, primarily Astral

The Second Initiation has proven to many to be the most grueling, time consuming, gut-wrenching and Soul constricting experience to date, for it involves a seemingly never ending foray into the darker side of our desire nature. We, as a human species are indentured to the Astral Plane. It has become the depository for all emotions the undeveloped personality cannot understand or accept. It is often Baptism by Fire. The Solar Plexus becomes the clearing house for this purpose and combined with the personality nature which is still maturing, drama and high emotion form the boat upon our sea of longing. The greatest test we undergo in this whole process is that of glamour and the illusions that we clothe ourselves with in order to validate our thoughts, feelings and desires. We are likened to the queen in Snow White who peers into the looking glass and purrs ‘mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?’

The Astral Plane presents the extra-sensory impressions and impulses that many term ‘psychism’, which in itself serves its initial purpose of offering the student the awareness of unseen energy and an introduction into the world of formlessness. However, it is addictive and Soul nullifying, for it is in reality based upon mass illusions perpetrated over eons of time. Illusions which have trapped many a Disciple in a web and prison of deception, which has sustained many a glamour.

Our job as Disciples and Initiates is to follow the evolutionary spiral in consciousness by entering the Halls of Knowledge. One of the great mandates to embrace is that only the personality can take the action required to expel glamour. The dedicated student will flounder and push through their glamour, tackle illusion and reap the rewards. This is the transference of the energy of desire within the Solar Plexus to the that of the Heart Centre wherein Love-Wisdom illumines the darkness and shadow of the lower Astral Plane. The personality becomes wiser as the Disciple enters the arena in which the Nature of Duality is questioned and challenged. The Mind and Heart of the Disciple, through Soul impulse become inspired towards Illumination, Service and Group cooperation. The desire nature is being tempered by Soul Love, which provides the Fire needed as s/he move towards further Initiations.

When the student begins to accept that the Astral Plane, being above the etheric/physical and below the Mental Plane, presents a learning opportunity, fiery desire cleanses the Soul of need, the personality of want, and eventuates a deeper appreciation for the complexities of Energy and its Laws. The lower astral nature must be brought under control and eventually dissipated in order for the Causal Body to begin to form. This lower astral nature will eventuate into a more complex and authentic astral body whose correspondence links the higher sub-plane of the Astral with the lower Buddhic Plane. Love as an Inspiration now fuses towards Love as an Aspiration.

Dedication, resulting in glamour, which is dissipated by devotion—these are the keynotes of the second initiation. (RI 361)

III. The Third Initiation – The Initiate

Within the Third Initiation the control of the personality is finally challenged in its totality, and the lower concrete mind must accept the sacrifices that the Soul demands for the full release and disclosure of the Solar Angel to commence. Up to this point we are learning to conduct ourselves morally and with devotion as displayed through our actions, feelings and thoughts, yet are still quite ‘new’ in our ability to think and create thoughtforms. Ray Five teaches us how to think constructively and methodically, in order for us to assimilate and translate symbols flowing from the Abstract mind. The Ajna is the major center under concern and undeveloped as an energy source it will fluctuate from being under or over stimulated. This will lead man on a merry chase focused on illusions, or conversely propel him into the higher abstract realms of the Mental Plane; to which the student may be ill prepared to experience. It is

a ‘heady’ time as we learnt that mental energy cannot be assimilated without a certain degree of balance and maturity. This is gained by garnering and transmuting occult Knowledge into Spiritual Wisdom. Under Monadic guidance the Soul enters the personality via the Triad of the Higher Mind, Spiritual Intuition and Higher Will, to now direct the four lower vehicles. The purpose is for the personality, Soul and Monad to eventuate Monadic Will.

Light as Knowledge and Wisdom begin to flood the Disciple’s sphere of influence and duly affects the Physical and Astral Permanent Atom, plus the Mental Unit. Cooperating under the dome of the burgeoning Soul-infused personality, the Manasic Permanent Atom is becoming stimulated by the unfurling of the petals within the Egoic Lotus. A momentous unfolding is at bay – the ‘death’ of the personality and the release of the Soul from bondage as it joins forces with the Solar Angel. However, Rays and Initiations (43) soon throws cold water upon the heated Disciple: “Forget not that, from the angle of the Hierarchy, the third initiation is regarded as the first major initiation”.

These words are an indication that the tests are also major. With the mental energy of Ray Five trilling to the Note of the Solar Angel, the Disciple must be ever aware of their thoughts, ranging from the mundane to the obscure, until balance and integration between the lower and higher centers is conjoined by the Heart. It is a time of colossal learning, as we continue to build the Antahkaranas that are essential to this Union. Every illusion we harbor, personally and collectively must be challenged and revealed for the falsehoods they contain. Every glamour must be dispelled with detachment and compassion. We learn humbleness.

Thus, as the death of the old personality completes, a new personality vehicle rises from the ashes – that of the truly Soul-infused personality. As the Solar Angel unfurls it wings and becomes the Jewel within the Lotus, Faith as a belief is validated by Love as a Truth. The Soul, in turn, begins a metamorphosis of its vehicle in preparation for the construction of the Causal Body which will require lifetime after lifetime to gain Perfected Form, yet once attained will climax into the journey of the Fourth Initiation. This Initiation marks the first conscious contact with the Monad as the personality flowers under the dome of the Monadic Ray. What constituted Life previous to this flowering bears little resemblance to Monadic influence. Hence, the transfiguration from a lower state of Being to a higher state of Being commences. The completion of the Third Initiation will see the full force of the Causal Body integrated into the various lower bodies. This also marks the full activation of the head centers (pituitary, pineal, alta major) coordinated as one Unit towards the formation of the triangle reflected in the Spiritual Triad.

The Hierarchy stands in Wonder and the entrance within the Brotherhood of the Light is offered as admission into the Ashram which corresponds to the Initiate’s Monadic Ray. The Great Planetary Force embodied within Shamballa unfurls and in conformance to the Transfiguration, Hierarchal impulse is fed into the Initiate, who begins to receive from the Inner Planes, the transcribed Will of the Divine Plan. As a result, the Initiate faces life changing mandates, and of great import is the use of the Mind as the controlling nature of the etheric body. This is a willful action which accompanies the acceptance and understanding that what we place upon the Physical Plane will carve the road towards our future as Spiritual Envoys.

“Only at the third initiation will the Initiate be in a condition to receive direct Planetary force.” (IHAS 68)

IV. The Fourth Initiation – The Arhat

Plane: Four – Intuitional/Buddhic

The Fourth Initiation as the Great Renunciation reveals the tests of dedication, integration, and relationship. We are now connecting firmly with the Buddhic Plane of Intuition and can serve as clear Channels of Light, illuming humanity with the Knowledge of Love-Wisdom. To this condition the Divine Mind seeks to flow without the impairment of form as garnered by the vehicles of the lower Planes. The Initiate is basically offered a release from all they have held dear and depended upon to uphold and uplift their Journey. It is a time of great personal and group sacrifice flowing parallel to the Knowing of Love-Wisdom, for in totality we experience the full effect of Ray Four, Harmony through Conflict. Ray Four becomes the defining Link between the energy variances of the other Six Rays, as the Conflict between Matter and Spirit is resolved. The Fourth Degree Initiate accepts the Balance between the Polarity as presented in the Nature of Duality. It has been a long protracted Journey, no longer does the soughing of the three lower form vehicles overtake the Chorus of the Angels.

One key purpose of the Fourth Initiation is to bring the Causal Body, as an energy system, into direct correlation with its Monad and hence into the auric field of the Hierarchy and Sanat Kumara. In the previous three Initiations, what has been mandated under the dome of the personality has engendered the Soul with its experience in form. Now the Monad and higher Spiritual Triad await extension in Spirit. The resultant Effect of past Incarnations apexes into a Point and under the Law of Sacrifice and Assembly we release from that which no longer serves and lovingly embrace a new vehicle of expansion in expression – this is the Monad in total union with its Personality.

We use the Teachings of Old to heighten to the senses of the Teachings of New, gathering seeds of Knowledge. This Great Crucifixion present attritions to take note of:

1. Short and to the point – many will face death in their zeal or reluctance to impede or escalate the energetic mandate towards the “death” of the personality.

2. The personality vehicle MUST enter complete detachment to the three-fold nature of form. This will require a further stimulation, reconstruction and assembly of the etheric /physical vehicle. 3. The brain must be able to hold the influx from the higher vibrations of Monadic Will, plus the energy of Unconditional Love.

4. The personality as a whole must detach from all preconceived beliefs as to what the higher Plane natures entail and forge ahead through only Will, Love and Sacrifice into a further unknown. This garners no fear nor weakness.

5. The Soul, that Harbinger of Light, whom has stood by Man in his Sea of Longing is a Thread placed upon the spiral within Evolutionary Consciousness. It can be termed the first Communicating link between the Personality and Monad, however the Soul is not the definitive

expression of the Monad. It is of import for both lay people and those of esoterica to understand that the dependence Humanity has placed upon the Soul as Redeemer goes much deeper than realized and its eventual dissolution upon the lower Planes, is pre-ordained.

6. The Solar Angel, whose Continence and Beatitude which amply affirm the True Nature of Love, will release from its chosen vehicle and enter into higher service or return to redirect Humanity, again as decreed within the Divine Plane.

7. The Causal Body now becomes the Illuminating Star which enters the Fifth Initiation, which in turn, as with the Soul body, will lead it towards the transference to its Monadic Thread – and purpose.

8. What is left? Personality – Monad. The Personality no longer bound to re-incarnating Principles seeking Karmic restitution.

The Soul and the Causal Body no longer exist by the time the fourth Initiation is undergone. What is left is the Monad and the thread, the Antahkarana which it has spun out of its own life and consciousness down the ages and which it can focus at will upon the Physical Plane, where it can create a body of pure substance and radiant light for all that the Master may require. V. The Fifth Initiation – The Holy Master

Plane: Three – Spiritual/Atmic

As our consciousness discards the traps and treasures within the vaults of time, we become lighter, finer, subtler as an energetic principle vibrating to pixels of Atmic Light that harbor no amalgamation of form. One becomes All flowing upon a sea of consciousness.

This Initiation must be entered with an awakened consciousness engendered with the energy of Ray One, Will-Power, as we move into further alliance with the Monad. Of principle interest towards these higher Initiations is the Reality that as we move from Plane to Plane, we experience the Qualities of the Ray upon that Plane plus its Seven Sub-Planes. Each of these Sub-Planes, also divided into Seven Sub Planes, is an exponential forum focused on broadening our scope of Spiritual consciousness in order to Serve humanity and the Hierarchal Scheme.

The propelling energies of this Initiation stand forth as Ray One and Seven. Ray One is channeled through the Crown center and flows into the Base of the Spine, lending its destroyer Aspect to all cleavages, no matter how ‘pure’ and ‘refined’ we deem them. It entrains the Initiate and propels them to their designated place in the order of evolutionary consciousness all humanity must experience. To this effect the Initiate will either experience actual death with conscious awareness and detached acceptance, or stand as the instrument in which they become Observers of the death process as

experienced by their fellow men. In the latter complete detachment to form, grief and mental anguish is necessary.

The other predominant Ray energy is Seven serving the Base of the Spine. With its direct correspondence to Ray One, our station on Earth is powerfully entrenched. This ensures the continuity of the etheric/physical (albeit higher evolved) body as the repository, transmitter and receiver of Monadic energy. As a whole unit the Fifth Ray Initiate has brought under control and dominion, the Five Rays of the incarnating Soul, plus the Rays of the Planes of its various sheaths (Plane 7, 6, 5, 4, 3,).

The Atmic realm reflects the highest apex of the Spiritual Triad formed through the activation of the Atmic, Buddhic and Manasic Permanent Atom. It is the Plane closely aligned to the Ashrams and Hierarchy in which we cooperate with the Divine Plan.

The great test is that of Will. The Will to renounce all attachment to the material world. The Will to detach from the higher astral body, the one which has seen us through lifetime after lifetime as we chased the carrots of conditional love. The Will to renounce the higher Mental Plane, affirming that the Soul and Solar Angel, these beautiful Sirens of compassion who have seen us this far, will in turn move on to their destiny. The Will to absolve our dependence upon thoughtform creation as a way to access both the higher and lower Spiritual Planes. Imagine a world in which thought is redundant, yet even in that endeavor, thought creation is required. And the total surrender to the Will of God. There is no sacrifice here, no conflict, only Joy in Service as the Master flows upon the Will-to-Good and Love.

Proceeding this period, the Personality has acted upon the Monadic Impulse in its various vibrations, comprising the Spiritual Triad, the Solar Angel, The Soul and Hierarchal influence. The Fifth Degree Initiate becomes the agent through which the directed Will, Love and Intelligence of the Monad enters expression and will adopt a vehicle suitably adapted to a realm whose evolutionary mandates require further stimulation. The Perfected Personality in its Monadic expression is offered by the Hierarchy a choice of Service as per the Divine Plane.

The Fifth Degree Initiate may choose to incarnate into physical form, or Teach within the Arcane Schools on the Higher Planes. Or, conversely, to commence training required for entry into further avenues of Service as offered by the Hierarchy.

The Master of Wisdom, Love and Compassion has taken their rightful place in the Divine Plan.

VI. The Sixth Initiation – The Chohan

Common term: Decision

The Chohan: Monadic Consciousness

Outcome: Intelligent Cooperation – Creativity

Plane: Two – Monadic

The growth of cosmic consciousness comes when the Fifth Degree Initiate passes through the Sixth Initiation of Decision. From that point on the consciousness of the Greater Life increasingly controls the attitude, awareness and the activities of the Master.

Having made it through the grueling tests and outcomes of the previous Five Initiations, which have spanned diverse incarnations, the Initiate’s entry into the Monadic Plane is akin to a fleeing moment. Karma has been cleared and renounced, distortions in the personality dissolved by the beams of subtler Light energies, the Soul and Solar Angel are released from the ties that bind, the Lunar and Solar Lords thanked and appeased. He who sought, now is Home and a Master in their own right. They are humble, yet can shoot the Rays of Light towards any situation that requires rectification, for they Know energy, its Laws, correspondences and analogies. Love is key. Wisdom is respected. Action is meted out for the Good of All.

The Hierarchy presents Seven Paths of Service at this epoch towards the Sixth Degree Initiate, hence the Great Decision is offered. The Seven Paths as described in IHAS (88-90) are as follows:

1. The Path of Earth Service.

2. The Path of Magnetic Work.

3. The Path of Training for Planetary Logoi.

4. The Path of Sirius.

5. The Ray path.

6. The Path the Logos Himself is on.

7. The Path of Absolute Sonship.

To this end there will be tremendous energy emanating from the Throat chakra of the Initiate via a Third Ray stimulus. The author’s hypothesis is that, if the Initiate, after the Fifth Initiation accepts an etheric/physical vehicle in order to enter a future Earth Path, the Third Ray will serve this vehicle. However, if the Initiate has chosen to vacate physical form, the Throat chakra of a Planarity Logos and its Monads provide the vehicle for the implementation of Service.

There is little literature concerning the Sixth Initiation, as humanity’s consciousness lends little credence to the absorption or understanding of Principles of Monadic Energy. However, one can affirm that once this Plane is accessed, the Third Aspect of the Logos will be expressed through the Pure Note of Creative Intelligence.

That which no longer serves is below the grade of this Initiation, therefore ‘fixation’ as relative to human terms ceases to apply. The Sixth Degree Initiate is not interesting in ‘cementing’ energy into form. However, fixation can be applied when one accepts that the Initiate of the Sixth Degree, becomes focused with Monadic intention to reflect Light upon darkness. From the writer’s perspective, no ‘test’ at this level of evolutionary consciousness will adversely affect the Path of the Initiate. The test in relative terms can relate to the Great Decision as to what Path of Service the Initiate will enter. We are given a hint of this when Christ chose the Path of Earth Service and took on the Office as Hierarchal Chief. To this effect He became One with All, absorbing that which Was, Is and Will Be. Great is the Heart who sees the future of Mankind and the tests instilled therein.

NOTE: The remaining Initiations involve the highest Planes and beyond in our Cosmic Physical Universe. Little can be written or stated by this Disciple.

VII. The Seventh Initiation – The Avatar

At the Seventh Initiation, the dominating Ray of our Planet, Love-Wisdom comes into full activation. The Eternal Pilgrim is now set on building a Planetary Antahkarana towards the fusion of the three Kingdoms of Shamballa, Hierarchy and Humanity. The Age of Aquarius enfolds humanity.

Section Five: Energy Systems

I. The Etheric/Physical Body

The etheric vehicle has the power to both evoke and invoke form, while the physical body serves merely as a sheath to support form matter. The physical sheath cannot invoke itself into alternative form, but it does hold the power to evoke the Aspects and Attributes of a higher Spiritual nature to its corresponding lower form nature. From this pool of Light energy, the etheric/physical component of the Soul is woven into manifested creation. The etheric web acts a channel in which the Life Force accentuates as rivers of Vitality serving to energize the lines of force(nadis) and vortexes (chakras) that compose the etheric body. The Three Aspects of Deity are embedded within the chakras and are in turn reflected in the physical form by three threads of Consciousness flowing from the etheric vehicle.

They are in simple terms:

1. The Life Thread (also called the Sutratma): anchored in the Heart chakra it has its physical correspondence in the thymus gland, the heart and circulatory system. As the First Aspect of Deity it aids in the development of the personality and ensures physical vitality through the Will to-Be.

2. The Thread of Consciousness: anchored in the Head center, its physical correspondence is the pineal gland. Its instrument of expression is the brain and Central Nervous System. It allows the human in being to experience the sensory impression from its environment. It is conjoined with the mental mind and is instrumental in aiding the personality towards Soul-fusion. This corresponds to the Second Aspect of Deity, Love-Wisdom, from which every journey of the Soul begins as the Will-to-Love.

3. The Creative Thread: a three-fold mandate, it serves to weave itself between the dense physical body, the etheric body, astral and mental body and is analogous to the spinal column supporting and protecting the human body system. It is anchored upon the Throat center and is the prime synthesizer of Soul energy. It emulates the Soul-infused personality by directing man from the material to the Spiritual Plane through the Third Aspect of Deity, Creative Intelligence. It is the Will-to-Good.

4. The Bridge Thread, or Antahkarana: this is a multi-tiered pathway which opens the gateways between energy levels and Planes connecting the three-fold personality and the Spiritual Triad.

The purpose of all Disciples is to bring into control the three lower natures through the acceptance that all Initiations are experiences of energy towards the evolving of Consciousness. To approach Initiation with expectations of entitlement and the belief that one can ‘think’ themselves into higher forms will reap dangerous and haphazard results. The brain and mental mind must embrace with acceptance that evolution as an energetic process follows Divine Laws of Creation and in this the Threads, plus Antahkaranas must be synthesized in a healthy manner, for the etheric/physical vehicle to enter the entirety of its expression. Knowledge and its subsequent Wisdom coherently addresses these mandates. Throughout the elongated course of Initiation, the Disciple will inevitably undergo periods of intense frustration as a result of the belief that they are following the correct precepts in ‘balancing’ their etheric/physical body and the major centers, yet still seem to be getting stuck in the same old patterns and habits that have haunted them for lifetimes.

When learning to balance and support the etheric/physical the power of evoking a higher energy down into a lower energy is mandated. Combined with this gathering of Knowledge, the Aspirant through the use of imagination and visualization acts ‘as if’ they are in direct contact with the chakra centers. It is a

process that requires the right use of mental energy, loving admission of heart energy, and a practical meditation routine that strives towards living a Soul-infused life.

II. The Seven Major Chakras

Humanity is concentrating on Initiation One to Three, of which the chakra system takes a dual participation. Acting as a vortex, each Centre contains Divine Qualities in correspondence to its Ray placement within the Cosmic Physical Scheme. There are numerous schools of thought that state the chakra system is composed of Seven Major chakras, however, New Age Wisdom affirms an Eighth chakra, that of the Splenic Centre, located between the Base of the Spine and the Solar Plexus. Its import is that of the organ for the absorption of prana via the physical sun, thus ensuring the vitality of the etheric/physical vehicle. It must be noted that chakras are embedded within the etheric body and have a corresponding reflection as sensed by the physical body.

The Qualities of the Soul are in alignment with the higher chakras, while the qualities of the personality align with the lower chakras. Each chakra spins like a wheel, absorbing and receiving Pranic and Ray energy through Petals that surround a Central Jewel. The Petals reflect multi-hued Light, whilst the Central Jewel is Pure Light. Chakras as seen clairvoyantly are described as Lotuses with varying number of Petals. Each Petal is embedded with a state of Consciousness.

Concerning the Path of Initiation, the Chakras are read in both an Ascending and Descending Order. Hence, the Crown is both 1 and 7. The Ajna 2 and 6. The Throat 3 and 5. The Heart 4. The Solar Plexus 5 and 3. The Sacral 6 and 2. The Base 7 and 1. This reflects both the Ascending Path of the Aspirant, Disciple and Initiate as they move from a Personality – Soul – Monad, and the Descending Path of Spirit as It moves from Monad – Soul – Personality.

The Crown center:

Also called the Head Center, located at the top of the head and contains the Qualities of Ray One, Will Power. This chakra reflects self-consciousness to our brain via the pituitary gland. It is comprised of

Twelve Major Petals and 960 Minor ones, therefore it is commonly called the Thousand Petal Lotus. Active after the Third Initiation it affirms and supports Monadic expression.

The Anja center: also called the Third Eye. It is placed slightly above and between the two physical eyes and acts as the synthesizer in the blending and fusing for all chakras. From this center we are able to gain Knowledge of alternate energy realities and receive impressions from the Inner World. It is also the gateway in which the Spiritual Triad influences the personality and allows for the absorption of Creative energies placed forth from the throat chakra to manifest on Earth. It vibrates to that of Ray Five. The Petal Nature is comprised of two lots containing Forty-Eight Petals, for a total of Ninety-Six Petals. It is the ‘eye of vision’ within the etheric body and absorbs Spiritual Light through its aperture. This Light is also absorbed through the right and left eye of the physical body. The pineal gland and pituitary gland work in symbiosis with the carotid gland to produce an atmospheric Light within the head. This Light reveals the Spiritual light in all form matter on this Plane. Both the Soul and the personality utilize this Light, yet each in a different decree. The well-adjusted personality focuses on visualization and the creation of thoughtforms engendering positive outcomes. The Soul uses the Light as a beacon that floods the Initiate with the Illuminating Knowledge that supports the Will to Love.

The Ajna has the ability to bring into synthesis the other chakras and acts as both an appropriating and destroying agency, revealing the Duality in Nature. The Soul’s mandate is purification of distorted matter and as an implement of vision the Disciple must be ever aware of the right use of thoughtforms and their creations. It is used in Magical Work and Healing. It is easily stimulated, but when entered into with undue Knowledge can open a Pandora’s box of deceptions that does little to advance the ignorant personality.

The Throat Center: etheric placement is towards the back of the neck and the area between the shoulder blades. Internal correspondence relates to the carotid gland, the medulla oblongata and the thyroid gland. This chakra is all about the Third Divine Aspect of Creative Intelligence whose purpose is to benefit both humanity and the Hierarchy. Attuned to the Qualities of Ray Three, both the uninitiated and Initiated draw from this Source for Creative expression and action upon the Physical Plane. The Lotus is comprised of Sixteen Petals. As a Ray Three vibration it enters activation through the First Initiation, serving as the stepping stone that affirms one’s focus and intention upon the Path.

The Heart Center: herein lies the Love Aspect of Ray Two, Love-Wisdom, the Soul and self consciousness. Its correspondence in the physical body is the heart, circulatory system and thymus gland. The Heart chakra serves as the agency through which the Hierarchy endeavors to awaken humanity to the Divine Plan. Its Lotus has Twelve petals. The Heart center is brought into activation at the Second Initiation, as we begin to reflect Love and Compassion towards oneself and others.

The Solar Plexus Center: this is the midway point for the transmutation process in which the lower personality has the opportunity to enter union with the Soul and the higher chakras. It is related to the pancreas and on the etheric vehicle, serves as the seat of our astral emotions and desires. It serves the function of clearing away dross from all three lower chakras through its ability to access the astral realm and with Right Intention see beyond our glamour and illusions. To this purpose it vibrates with Ray Six, Devotion and Idealism, adding the impetus and drive for change that the Soul desires of the personality vehicle. The Lotus has Ten Petals.

The Sacral Center: Its function is to assure perpetuity of the physical species as it moves forward upon the path of Illumination. It is located around the lower part of the lumbar area and its glandular system

are the gonads of both sexes. As an assimilator of incarnation, it uses the Third Aspect to manifest form in Nature. It vibrates to Ray Seven, presenting Order and Structure to the Physical Plane. The Lotus has Six Petals. Misalignment results in the distortion of Sex Magic, a Ray Seven Attribute.

The Base of the Spine: this is the seat which supports all the other centers. It is aligned with the adrenal glands and affirms our station on Earth. Vibrating with Ray One, it serves as the last resting place for Spirit and matter and registers the First Aspect of Will -Power. The major function and purpose of this chakra is to light the fire beneath the coiled serpent lying in suspension at the base of the spine. This energetic impulse is known as Kundalini. Kundalini is the resultant activation of all Seven centers flowing in synthesis thereby revealing transcendental states of consciousness, whose purpose is to unite man with Divine Nature. Kundalini raised in conformity of Right Will, Love and Intelligence serves to burn and destroy anything that lies in the way of this Union. However, man seems intent on raising Kundalini from a platform of misappropriation, ignoring the adage that Mental Plane matter serves as a positive and safe mandate for the activation of Kundalini. The true fusion and use of Kundalini involves the Heart and Soul-infused personality. There is no other pretext for entry into the domain of the Monad. Its Lotus contains only Four Petals.

III. Transference

Transference involves the flow of energy from a lower to a higher chakra and occurs as the Disciple embraces the Knowledge of the Wisdom Teaching. It is related to building the bridge called the Antahkarana formed by the imagination, visualization and will of the Disciple. Its purpose is to present expansions of consciousness from the lower concrete mind to that of the higher mind within the Spiritual Triad. Each of the Seven Major Centers has one or more corresponding energies that when merged as One Synthetic Unit, place into concretization the pathway for the Monad to anchor into the etheric/physical body.

Transference is an experiential process felt within the etheric/physical as energetic frequencies and vibrations. To this effect the Disciple and Initiate, must become aware of these powerful energies on both a mental, emotional and sensory note as to their effect on the personality as it enters Soul-fusion. Prescient to this mandate, the Disciple may take note that techniques for transference are available to assist in this metamorphosis. Glamour, a World Problem has several Techniques that will address the inevitable glamour issues that arise during the transference process. The Technique of Light and the As if-Technique applied in correspondence with a mediation practice and healthy life-style will prove of great benefit to the student.

The Crown: the transference is that of the three lower centers which constitute the personality being brought into coordination with the three head centers. These are the pineal gland, the pituitary body and the alta major. As a Ray vibration the transference of the three lower Rays, (Seven, Six and Five)

funneled into a Ray One Center. To this mandate the student must acquire esoteric Knowledge and mediation techniques for the smooth assimilation of energetic matter as it enters the powerful Aspects of Ray One. Further into the Initiation’s, this transference will concern the Crown and Base of the Spine, both emanating Ray One with exoteric and esoteric Planets in balance. The danger here is fundamentally that of uncontrolled kundalini or overstimulation of the lower centers by an overactive

Crown center. Disciples in their zeal, often fail to pull back and regroup within their energetic responsibilities. This is a long and protracted period in the attainment of balanced Soul growth.

The Ajna:

The Head center will activate the pineal gland in the Ajna. Once brought into stimulation the Ajna has the distinct role as fusing the centers both above and below the diaphragm. The Disciple and Initiate in feeling the etheric/physical sensation of the Ajna impressing the physical body, will experience a variety of energy based impressions. Often fiery in their pursuit for psychic phenomena and chakra activation, confusion as to which energy belongs to which chakra will find the Disciple lost in the fog of both glamour and illusion. Every Disciple and Initiate must enter self-responsibility and respect required anent an awaking the Ajna, lest it purpose, that of Illumination, becomes lost in shadow and darkness.

The Throat:

The Throat Center has its correspondence to the Sacral Center. In both average man and the Initiate, Ray Three is located in the Throat center and Ray Seven in the Sacral. This assures man’s Creative Intelligence (Ray Three) is brought into concretization through ordered Action (Ray Seven). These are both hard line Rays and as a consequence energetic impulses can be rapid and destructive. The impulse to present to the ‘world’ what we believe to be the Soul’s purpose, invariably results in an overstimulation of Sacral energy into the Throat center. Patience is long forgotten as we strive to present and test our ideals to the world. Time will avail itself in this instance, as the Soul and its Light continually reveals that the transfer of energy between the Throat and Sacral is one met with a measure of patience, love and discretion. When flowing unimpeded by illusion, the Throat draws from the Sacral (which experiences no depletion in its energetic forum), adding the impetus and order to bring Creative Ideas to Order and Action.

The Heart Center:

The Heart center is the first center that mandates stimulation as a prelude to the Soul’s journey. As this Cosmic Physical Universe flows upon a Ray Two impulse, that of Love-Wisdom, the return to Source will cosmically and magnetically follow the line of least resistance – Heart to Heart. However, it takes untold incarnations to enter the conscious awareness that Love is a Principle of Intelligence and not a result of

mutated desire. Danger in this energetic platform is both an over or under stimulation of the Heart, where compassion and apathy become confused as the Disciple comes to terms with their beliefs and feelings as to what constitutes the Vibration of Pure Light and Love.

The Solar Plexus:

Known as the ‘great clearing house’, it is the main center for the transmutation required of the three lower centers in their approach to the three higher centers. The Heart assists this process as it stands as the mediating bridge between with the Solar Plexus which quantifies and qualifies the Will and Power required to direct us into higher states of Spiritual consciousness. This transference is dramatically affected by over or under stimulation. Under stimulation retards personality growth as the Disciple fails to address karmic and personal obligations. They can easily become static in their Spiritual endeavors. Overstimulation creates chaos as the personality strives to push through the Heart without the

consciousness experience of Love as a prelude to Soul growth. When Will is conjoined with Heart and Mind, the transference of energies from higher to lower and vice versa take their rightful place in the Soul-infused personality.

The Sacral:

The transference of energy from the Sacral seeks direct expression through the Throat center. The drive to speak one’s Truth receives a beneficial impulse from this transference as we become more adaptable and accepting that the Soul as Light, will manifest upon this Physical Plane through the creation of Ideas. We use our voice to express these ideas in both the written word and artistic form. As this chakra is

predominantly embedded with the promulgation of the species, the misuse and abuse of sexual energy has placed into this world of form deleterious attitudes that serve the energy of darkness rather than Light. Today, the esoteric student is being asked to embrace the energetic confluence of Sex energy as a platform whose purpose is to provide the incarnating Soul with the etheric/physical body mandated for Monadic expression. To this effect the sex center generates the creative impulse through which the evolving personality, in conjunction with the Soul, will emanate Divine Purpose via the Throat center.

The Base of the Spine:

Having served the purpose of grounding man to their domain, the transference of energy corresponds to that of the crown, as the Monad enters expression. The Spiritual pathway of the spine serves this purpose. Under stimulation results in stasis upon the Soul’s journey and as a consequence entails eventual dissolution of the physical body. Overstimulation of the center engenders kundalini run amok as all energy centers via for expression and expansion. New Age Wisdom entails the activation of the Base center through a forced, yet dependable embrasure of energy and its interrelation to all other centers. When transference is complete, the ebb and flow of Monadic energy enters the cyclic flow of consciousness.

IV. The Antahkarana

Students today have made much progress towards the control of the personality, and the Disciples in the world are now so numerous that the hierarchical emphasis is today upon the states of consciousness which follow the third initiation. Hence the giving out to the public of the teaching upon the Antahkarana. (RI 274)

The term Antahkarana originates from Sanskrit, antar, meaning ‘interior’, or ‘within’ and karana, ‘sense organ’ or ‘cause’.² It is basically the energetic channel which links the personality vehicle and Soul to the higher Spiritual Planes. As we enter the steps necessary for the unfolding of consciousness upon the path of Discipleship, the Antahkarana plays a key role in allowing for the flow of energies from one center to another center. Once opened this channel acts as the pathway for the ebb and flow of Consciousness. The Heart stands in compliance as the Bridge, or Antahkarana between the two forums

comprising the lower and higher Planes. There are numerous Antahkaranas called into expression upon the Path of Return. The first to be ‘built’ is that of the personality and the Soul. In this instance the personality begins to forge a brain-mind connection and pursue with Faith the belief of the viability of Soul. This in turn further stimulates the energetic vehicles and the Antahkarana between the higher Abstract mind and Soul are forged, resulting in a Brain-Mind-Soul fusion. This in turn leads to still other Antahkaranas that seek union with the Spiritual Triad and Hierarchal community therein. This process repeats as a spiral until fusion with the Monad is achieved.

As with all courses of evolution this is an energetic process conforming to the Universal Laws and Principles of the Cosmic Universe. We are reminded of this as Alice Bailey shares in Rays and Initiations, that students must use caution and not confuse the energetic requirements within the Antahkarana as opposed to those of the Life Thread. Ageless Wisdom reveals that the Sutratma serves the function of uniting the base and crown for the final fusion between the re-generated man and his Monad leading to immortality. And the Antahkarana serves to weave all three threads to form the channel or bridge between two or more states of consciousness, leading to continuity, as preparatory for the final activation of the Kundalini awakening. Hence it does little of note for a person to try to work energetically with only the Sutratma in their efforts to ascend the Spiritual ladder of consciousness. As stated previously, Kundalini awakening is more than just wishful thinking.

V. The Astral Body

The Second Plane reflects upon the Astral Plane; therefore, the astral body is governed by Rays Six with its higher order corresponding to Ray Two. As an environment it is composed of astral ethers which serve in its lowest capacity to reflect the shadows that humanity’s abuse of Light energy has created. We sense the vibrations of the etheric/physical body and in response to this sensory application, have the ability to also sense the astral body with its etheric correspondences. Those who delve in esoterica have become well versed in the term ‘astral projection’ which is simply the transference of Physical Plane consciousness to that of astral consciousness. The lower astral body is a man-made creation which poses perhaps the greatest roadblock upon the Initiation process for many are lulled into the belief that this ‘body’ is real. In reality we are blinded by the Light, and magnetically drawn to the Lunar forces that cull our intuition and support our illusions. It is a realm in which illusion and glamour can be challenged on its lower spiral for the purpose of freeing the Prison of the Soul. Forewarned is the astral “traveler” who seeks to dominate this realm through the misuse of the desire nature, for surely they will incur and face the wrath of the Ray Lords.

However, unbeknownst to the uninitiated, the higher Sub-planes of the astral realm are embodied with Light vibrations whose purpose is to radiate Knowledge to seers and adepts whose mandate is Service for humanity.

VI. The Mental Body

The Initiate is soon brought to the awareness of the complex nature of the mental body. it is a three-fold division of energy composed of the lower concrete mind, the Egoic Lotus and the higher Abstract mind. Placement is on Plane Five, yet with varying frequencies, they offer a progressive unfoldment of the nature of mental energy and its power. For the Initiate the mental body is the forum in which we learn how to think, create thoughtforms, hone the imaginative field and set into concretization our visions. Eventually, as we unfurl the petals within the Egoic Lotus, our sense of duality sharpens and we begin to

erase misconceptions and ideals that we based upon illusory concepts. The field of mental endeavor and energy is mind boggling and many a person has become lost in the traps and mazes of the mental fields as redacted Knowledge and its amassing; entrap them in the belief that Knowledge gathered equates to Wisdom gained. It is well to remember that Wisdom is a Heart mandate, not a mental focus.

Section Six: Initiatory Chaos

I. The Imbalanced Personality

The personality is truly unique in esoterica for as a consciousness it sub-stands the etheric/physical, astral and lower mental vehicles. It weaves a web of energy that draws from its center a personality force that believes itself to reign supreme for the maintenance and expression of life. The importance of the personality to the evolving Initiate cannot be overly stressed as we are the controlling factor towards Personality-Soul fusion as we move from the Path of Probation and Discipleship, then into Initiation.

This responsibility entails the gathering of esoteric Knowledge in the Halls of Learning as we graduate from the Halls of Ignorance. It demands courage and fortitude, for as we remove the masks of our ‘faces’ each energy body will react correspondingly based upon crystallizations within its own energy matrix and beyond. The uneducated personality will fight tooth and nail to maintain supremacy over its illusory world. It is an oft lonely journey, addled with the confused and often frustrated personality subjected to learning how to cope with itself as a responsible human and Spiritual being. The resultant effect on its three lower energy centers ranges from sheer bliss to abject horror. All point to a multitude of lessons that will ultimately free us from our self-created and self-perpetrated ring-pass-nots.

When the Disciple begins to ‘act as if’ the personality is healed, through venues involving a restructuring and organization of physical brain patterning, chakra balancing, a concentrated mental vision focused on Will-to-Good, we then begin to learn the true value of Sacrifice and Service.

New Age Wisdom, with its forced Initiation, does not support nor condone the lazy and ignorant personality. It calls All to task, affirming again and again, that the conclave of 2025 requires stable and mature Soul-infused personalities to carry the energy of the Aquarian Age forward. What a wonderful opportunity for all Aspirants and Disciples as they truly step from the mode of Dweller on the Threshold and take the leap into that of Soul as Observer.

II. Maya

Maya is Sanskrit for ‘illusion’ as related to phenomena that we fail to perceive as transitory in nature. This is primarily of a personality mandate. It brings on the illusion of separatism and the belief in form and materialism as finite in principle. It is found on all three lower Planes, affecting that Plane with its

own vibratory chaos. To the newly placed Aspirant who is entering the Path, the First Initiation addresses Maya primarily on the etheric /physical Plane, while astral Maya and mental Maya are addressed during the Second and Third Initiations, respectively.

The purpose of the First Initiation is to come to the realization and acceptance that the gross physical body is not immutable and serves only as a vehicle for the etheric body to work in symbioses with the world of form. This is tough and oft times brutal Sacral chakra work, for having identified with the

material nature of form, and then learn that the physical vehicle exists as an illusion, proves oft times difficult to swallow. Releasing from Maya requires a balance of sensory reactions to physical impressions plus the honest appraisal of one’s dependence upon materialism. Perhaps the greatest import when addressing Maya is humanity’s embrasure of physical death as a finite process rather than as a release for Soul evolution.

He accustoms himself, through persistent unbroken practice, to distinguish between the self and the not-self, and to occupy himself with the affairs of Spirit and not with those of the great maya or world of forms. (LS 87)

III. Glamour

As a word origin glamour is coined with “magic”, “spell”, and “an exciting and often illusory and romantic attraction.”³

With the advent of the Atleantean consciousness, humans not having the capacity or will to understand astral sense impressions, fell into glamour by the magnetic pull of lower desires and beliefs that validated the personality’s selfish nature. Glamour as an energetic mandate is insidious, embedded with an intelligence continually supported by darker forces sustained through illusions. It is emotional potency run amok and trapped in self-perpetuated ring-pass-nots. It feeds the lower psychism of the Astral Plane to which many a Student has unconsciously, and consciously, bound themselves.

Dissipating glamour is a required task of all Disciples upon the Path. However, many a Student has fallen under the impression that calling upon the Soul will eradicate and disrupt glamour, when in reality, the evolving Soul in projection remains anent from the energy of glamour. Yet, so powerful is the pull of the Soul to awaken the personality and express itself upon the Physical Plane, that in its earlier incarnations

it identified with the personality and not itself, imprisoning itself in both Maya and glamour. Lifetimes of evolutionary consciousness drew the Soul from this state of glamour, until upon the path of Initiation, the Soul stands above the energy of glamour and illusion. Glamour is ours to own, and requires the hard graft of learning how we ourselves create our own illusions. All Disciples will benefit from apprising themselves of the techniques for the Dissipation of Glamour as found in, ‘Glamour, a World Problem’. In this book Master DK serves to educate the Student upon the extent of the problem glamour presents, and measures for freeing the desire nature trapped within the lower astral realm. Following the concepts of forced Initiation, all Students of New Age Wisdom by the close of the Second Initiation should make themselves familiar with their personal glamour and take responsibility for its dissolution. The Third Initiation will mark the beginning of Group Service and on this platform the Initiate begins to address glamours of the world and humanity.

IV. Illusion

Bound to the Third Initiation, illusion must be confronted ‘head’ on. For as the thinker creates his own world of being, the personality holds the umbrella of deception to ward off the rainfall of our tears. What we cannot or will not understand on a sensory platform, be it physical or emotional, we carve as mental belief systems that support erroneous perceptions. It is the Great Experiment laced with distortions of Energy, hence the term the Great Illusion.

Illusions are fed by ignorance and thoughtforms (themselves created from illusions perpetrated since time immortal) and stand before the battle ground of Soul and personality. As a mental fulcrum they are closely associated with glamour and Maya, thereby a trinity absent of Light is formed. Its prevalent danger is that of the separated self which remains abstinent and ignorant of the true nature of Duality. Illusion demands only one point of view and this offsets balance within the pairs of opposites.

Concerning the Initiatory Path, Students must primarily address personal illusion before moving forward towards collective illusion. An in-depth study of the nature of Duality aimed at fusion between the personality and Soul, will do much to support and encourage our efforts towards this. It is not an easy process to see ourselves for our sins, yet it is surely the most necessary process the Disciple must experience.

The glamour of one's own distress, the maya of the past distorts one's point of view. Only the Soul stands clear from illusion, and only the Soul sees things as they are. Mount, therefore, to the Soul. (DINAI 463)

Section Seven: Energetic Load

I. Lunar Lords

It should be remembered here that only cosmic and solar lords formulate thoughts. The lunar Lords and all lesser intelligences do not do so. (TOCF 295)

In this Cosmic Physical Universe, the life impulse is engendered by the Great Builders, Solar Pitris (Ancestors/Creators of Man) and the Lesser Builders, the Lunar Pitris. In the eons of Globes and Chains, the Original Planet to which the microcosm and the macrocosm endowed with expression became redundant and retracted as the evolutionary scheme for Man failed to evolve at the rate decreed by the Divine Plan. The first Planet to succumb carried the atomic instinct of the Plan onto the second Planet involved in this scheme. Earth its name be. The first Planet continues to implode upon itself as it enters the death throes which accompany matter. In Service to the Divine Plan it continually sacrifices its time within space. Moon its name be.

Both the Moon and the Earth are comprised of similar atomic matter, both are non-sacred Planets. Ray Three dominates the Earth and Ray Four dominates the Moon. However, the Solar Pitris have their correspondence to the Earth, and the Lunar Pitris have their correspondence to the Moon.

The moon holds the aura and energy of shadows and darkness for it stands as the great depository of all maleficence linked to past incarnations. It is reflected Light yet its continence shines as a visible ring pass-not the majority of humanity is unware of. The Lunar Pitris dictate and reign over the unevolved personality vehicle in an effort to bring into our awareness the Ray distortions in our energetic modules. The Attributes comprising the higher Plane of the Abstract mind, Intuitive body and Spiritual body are held by the Solar Lords. Humanity’s quest and purpose is too free themselves from the magnetic pull of the Lunar Lords and consciously move into the sphere of influence that is held by the Solar Lords.

Thereafter, the work of the Lunar Lords is to ‘shake’ us awake, and it forever proceeds that of the Solar Angels. It is not an easy task to enter the world of the Lunar Angels. The Moon has come to represent the Prison of the Soul, due to the personality’s ineptitude and reluctance of facing past issues in present

circumstances. Much energy is thrown at the Disciple and the intelligent use of Love placed into Action, becomes the fulcrum towards self-acceptance. It behooves us as Disciples to gather the Knowledge required as to how the energy of form falls under the influence of the Lunar Lords and Their close association with the astral desire nature which is indelibly etched in the Past.

II. Karma

God touch me in a thousand ways

Only told it is part of the Great Cosmic Wheel

That Life is for living and dying too

Karma is the Law of Cause and Effect and everything happens according to the Law; for it governs all life and manifested matter. Karma has to do with the quality of an energetic interplay and its objective is to bring matter into confrontment to be utilized as Divine Creation. It deals with Duality and its opposing forces. Choose that which retards Soul and Spiritual growth, a debt on the balance scales of Life incur. Failure to accept one’s karmic obligations insures an increased stagnation and crystallization within our personality and its vehicles. Karma adversely affects the Prison of the Soul which is indentured to the Lunar Lords. It is a universal mandate and affects the individual man, humanity as a whole, a Planetary scheme and Solar Logos.

Karma cannot be worked off with a separatist attitude or belief. One person’s karma is linked to all of humanity, past, present and future. As an incarnated Soul, we are bound to the Moon until such a time as we awaken and learn that the past holds our karmic vestures. Karma when addressed through our desire nature, as in “I wish, or, I will”, serves mainly to increase the imbalance and fog in the astral body, and maintains a cycle of longing and yearning that does little to address imbalance. It is through our mental mind that great inroads to healing and negating karma occur. Addressing karma requires the effort to see the reality behind every form and a willingness to rectify the past. Another means of balancing karma is to consciously and Soulfully choose the Eight practices of Buddhism, which serve to increase Dharma in the student’s life. Dharma is choosing Rightful Divine Law.

Karma is present in the first Three Initiations. The First Initiation is reflective of karma based upon materialism and embrasure of physical form. The Second Initiation is reflective of karma as a result of the desire nature and its emotional consciousness emotive of love. The Third Initiation addresses karma on the Mental Plane and illusions surrounding the nature of Duality. With regard to the Fourth Initiation all karma has been successfully addressed and balanced, for karma, as a negative expression of energy, does not exist on the Buddhic Plane. As the Lunar Angels acquiesce to the Solar Angels, the Prison of the Soul is released, no longer holding the Initiate in Bondage.

III. Personality verses Mind

No one man's expression of the truth is the whole expression, and the sole purpose of thought is to enable us to build constructively for ourselves, and to work in mental matter (CA 4)

The personality can be equated to the sheath which amalgamates and synthesizes the energies of the three lower form vehicles. It draws these energies from the lower Eighteen Sub-Planes of the Cosmic Physical Universe. Its purpose is to enter into the awareness, acceptance and service as a vehicle for the Soul to express itself within the world of form. The unevolved personality is predominantly bound and subjugated to the lower concrete mind, astral desire body and physical sense impressions. Master DK imparts, ‘None of the sheaths through which the Soul functions has self-Knowledge; they are only the channels through which Knowledge is gained and life experience undergone.’ (LS 414)

The personality transfers and transmute impressions into Knowledge driven by mental energy, yet, the infantile concrete mind forever inhibits and misinterprets the downward impetus of Ideas flowing via the higher Abstract mind. The mind is not the personality. Nor is the personality solely the mind. The brain and mind are conjoined to both support and sustain the energy of Light. The mind is a transmitter of Knowledge as matter infused with the loving intelligence of Spirit. We use the mind in order to perceive ideas and thoughtforms and relay them into the brain, hence into the memory of man. The mind draws forth from the Plane of mental matter (Fifth Plane – Ray Five), chitta, which is the substance from which thoughtforms take creation. Uncontrolled chitta in unevolved man presents a chaotic abundance of energy that the brain is ill-equipped to quantify or qualify. Thus, we are left with thoughtforms flowing unhindered and un-disciplined within the framework of our mental body.

The burgeoning personality, often out of control, is bonded to the concrete mind in an effort to validate order out of chaos. Yet, having no access to the Abstract mind and its higher Ideals, what the concrete mind cannot understand or assimilate, will be regulated and encased in illusion. Meditation as a prelude and support for mind control is called upon as the nature of chitta is investigated, along with the lower energy schemes linked to the desire natures. It is not the mind’s purpose to do the work for the student, the student must do the hard graft and by repeated effort, Will and Love, the stumbling blocks between the mind and the personality smooth out and enter the trinity of Brain-Mind-Soul.

First: —It is necessary that one recognizes what wrong vibration is, and that one is able to register reaction. A vibration, an impulse, an emotion, a desire originates in a lower Aspect of the form side. They differ from an emanation coming from the Soul. The two impacts upon the sentient body must be recognized as different. (TWM 149)

Section Eight: Tools

I. Raja Yoga

When we have developed physical bodies that are strong and clean, and emotional bodies that are controlled, and not swayed by desire, when we have mental bodies that are our instruments and not our masters, then we shall know the true meaning of meditation. (CA 33)

New Age Wisdom authorizes Raja Yoga as the directive involved towards the forced Initiation process. It trains both the brain and mind as the discipline for acquiring the Soul-infused personality. Lemuria adopted Hatha Yoga, in which the discipline of the physical body revealed the gateway towards Initiation. Atlanteans adopted Lala and Bhakti yoga, in which control of both the etheric/physical and astral body opened the portals of Initiation. Now, Raja Yoga calls for subjugation of the mind and control of the mental body as the ingress to Initiation.

To this effect, Aspirants, Disciples and Initiates will be required to detach from the mind and use only mental matter as the purveyor that unites the personality with that of Soul. Humanity has reached a stage in which the ability to learn how to think, and create positive thoughtforms is upon us. Raja Yoga flows in symbiosis with the building of the Antahkarana that all Disciples partake of. The purpose of weaving the Antahkarana is to allow the ebb and flow of Light energy to infiltrate first our lower vehicles, and then our higher Spiritual vehicles. This calls for mental control and concentration that engenders purified thought which is learnt through a structured practice of meditation. Raja Yoga embodies Eight Stages and their various Principles:

1. Yama – Self control

2. Niyama – Discipline

3. Asana – Physical exercises

4. Pranayama – Breath exercises

5. Pratyahara – Withdrawal of the sense from external objects

6. Dharana – Concentration

7. Dhyana – Meditation

8. Samadhi – Complete Realization

All this is possible to the man who has stilled the versatile psychic nature and has mastered the kingly science of Raja yoga. (LS 204)

II. The Wisdom Teachings

New Age Wisdom has been gifted to Man through the instrumental efforts and dedication of the Timeless Ones, those who hold the Knowledge, Love and Wisdom of the Divine Plan as relayed by the Mind of God. It shares its occult matter and reveals the Path of the unevolved man towards eventual union with the Monad. It embraces the Real within all Aspects of philosophy, science and religions vibrating on a singular note of Purity and Sameness. It offers an inclusive and non- sectarian vision that embraces at-one-ment with the Soul and personality. The revelation of a Hierarchal architecture is presented by Beings and Masters of both an incarnate and discarnate nature, operating on the Inner and Outer Planes of this Cosmic Physical Universe. The design is to guide humanity to its role in the Divine Plan through provisional periods of transition, called Initiations. These lead to progressively purer degrees of expanding consciousness, thereby awakening humanity to the vibration of Love-Wisdom of which this Universe embodies.

To further stimulate man’s consciousness the Science of Esoteric Astrology is introduced, along with the mandates to form a New World Religion, which affirms through energetic principles, the synthetic consciousness of both the Christ and the Buddha. He who teaches. He who Loves. As a Disciple we are offered occult formats geared to bringing Soul consciousness to the forefront of daily living. As an Initiate, the Science of the Antahkarana is revealed, with many more Sciences made available for our reflections as we begin to ascend the Ladder of Return.

No true investigator of the Ageless Wisdom is asked to give blind adherence to any presentation of truth; he is asked, however, to have an open mind and seriously to weigh and consider the theories and ideals, the laws and the truths which have guided so many out of darkness into the Light of Knowledge and experience. (TWM 6)

III. Esoteric Psychology

The new psychology which will be based upon the seven Ray types and the new esoteric astrology. (DINAI 26)

Psychology has been defined as the, “scientific study of the human mind and its functions, especially those affecting behavior in a given context.”⁴ This definition suits average man, yet lacks in depth answers for those who seek assimilation with the Soul. The Science of Esoteric Astrology is closely linked to that of Esoteric Psychology as it offers both an exoteric and esoteric view of the personality, the Soul and Service. The tableau of both the Soul and personality and its individual placement upon the Zodiacal Wheel will unveil Qualities and Strengths that a seeker can focus upon as they seek Soul alignment. Esoteric astrology with its ability to trace the Path of the Stars, reveals cleavages and fractures within both the personality and Prison of the Soul, bringing illumination as per karmic load indentured through past incarnations.

It must be noted that the Science of Esoteric psychology must not be entered blindly nor with the erroneous perception that those schooled in exoteric astrology, upon reading about Esoteric Astrology, are themselves capable of presenting a concise and factual surmise of a person’s Soul journey. This is not a case of parroting Knowledge; it is the reality of applying Wisdom. The Esoteric Psychologists are being guided in part by the Higher Intuitive sense and factual Knowledge as gained through the study of Ageless Wisdom.

Men are seeking to understand themselves, to find the kingdom of God within themselves, and through Mental Science, New Thought, and the study of psychology they will arrive at certain realizations which will prove invaluable to the human race. (CA 32)

Section Nine: Stabilization and Balance

I. Individualization

In Individualization, the life of God which has been subjected to the processes of growth, stimulation and development in the three lower kingdoms, becomes focused in the fourth kingdom in nature, the human, through the agency of a “cycle of crisis”, and becomes subjected to the influence of Soul energy in one of the seven Ray Aspects. (EPII 21)

The modern context concerning ‘individualization’ is certainly in opposition to the esoteric term: ‘Individualization – discriminating the individual from the generic group or species.’ ⁵

The esoteric syntax for ‘individualization’ can be termed as, ‘the shifting of the evolving life of God into a new sphere of awareness’. (EPI 31)

To the Disciple upon the Path, Individualization engenders a tremendous pull between the pairs of opposites, as the personality comes to terms with the nature of Duality. Individualization can be termed as the impact of the Soul on the personality and human evolution. Individualization has occurred within

every Round and Race on earth, with the final impetus that of the animal kingdom superseding into the human kingdom. With this accordance the full force of the Seven Rays bore down into form, of which man must assimilate into the Soul-infused personality.

Many ascribe individualization as the ‘Great Experiment’ in which the Rounds, Chains and Schemes of this Planetary Logi imploded unto the smallest Aspect of form matter, the atom, embedding it with the three Aspects of the Absolute, then veiled itself in the darkest abode of dense matter. The Planet chosen for this experiment is called Earth, and is the second in a Chain to undergo individualization on a Planetary scheme. The first Plane, that of the Moon, resulted in less than stellar effects as the beings in its affluence could not grasp the significance of their individualization. Theirs was mandated as an aspirational modality which equated with searching outside of one self for Soul expansion and expression. Earth, now under the dome of the Hierarchy, is gifted the task of inspiration in which man looks within for Soul expansion and expression. Still flowing upon the venue of individualization, a third Planet awaits presentation dependent upon humanity’s cooperation as per the Hierarchal Scheme.

Upon the Initiatory journey there occurs sequentially a moment of crisis in which the self and the Soul reach a state of friction that culminates in the fracturing of crystalized form in a ring-pass-not. The lone traveler will transit from an “me” consciousness, to an “I’ consciousness and finally to an “I AM” consciousness. Each stage moves the Disciple farther and farther away from an isolated identity based upon the individual perceptions whilst edging closer to a group identity focused on humanity’s welfare. We go from selfish aspirations, to selfless Aspiration.

It is a solitary journey at its onset for no one can give us inspiration, we must dig deep and look hard to see the jewel within our Lotus. Yet, in stating the above, no man is an island, and one need only refer to the Wisdom Teachings to acquire the Knowledge necessary to familiarize oneself towards eventual Individualization. Once the Disciple has embraced the concept of Duality, that of Soul and personality, the individualization process becomes one of ‘Isolated Unity’ in which one still is singularly responsible for adopting the steps necessary for character reformation, however there is an Intuitive understanding that one is part of a Group Brotherhood whose mandate is Love-Wisdom.

It is indeed and in truth from glory to glory that we go. The past glory of Individualization must fade away in that of initiation. The glory of the slowly emerging self-consciousness must be lost to sight in the wonder of the group consciousness of the race, and this the foremost thinkers and workers today most ardently desire. (EPI 314)

II. Discipleship

Master DK: My task with you is not so much the impartation of new facts, truths, points of view and interest, but the awakening into reality of that which your mind already has received as theory and hypothesis. (DINAII 369)

Average man receives force from the Physical, Astral and lower Mental Planes, however the Disciple receives force, both overt and occult, from all levels of the Mental Plane plus, of most import, the Plane of Buddhi/Intuition. The Plane of Buddhi flows with the embedded energy of Love-Wisdom and it is to this impulse that the Disciple responds. Response of course varies with the attrition and amplitude of one’s degree upon the Path, therefore Disciples come in many guises and energy matrixes.

Initially as all begin the Path of Return selfishness predominates, for it is an ‘all about me’ stage in which the fact of the Great Work as an interior fulcrum becomes mandated. We learn, adapt and correlate our existence by delving ever deeper into our psyche and bringing Soul revelation to the forefront of being. This is oft times a lonely and lowly process, met with varying attitudes of personal compliance in accepting self-responsibility for our growth, or tempered with reluctance to face hard issues. Nevertheless, we persevere as Spiritual Warriors.

There is often confusion when the new student begins to explore the Paths and Stages of Discipleship. The Paths are simply: Aspirant, Probationary Disciple, Accepted/Pledged Disciple and Initiated Disciple. It would do well to remember that the lower Eighteen Sub-Planes compromise that of the Path of Probation and it is not until the student enters the Third Initiation that the Path of Accepted/Pledged Disciple is offered. From the Fourth Initiation onward, Disciples are Initiated Disciples of varying degrees. This goes hand in hand with the acceptance that learning as a prelude to consciousness evolution is but one of the many extensions applied by the Hand of God.

The stages of Discipleship are entered when the Aspirant, as seeker, commits to a Spiritual practice which supports the relationship between man, Soul and God. It engenders lifetimes of learning self discipline towards Self-Realization. New Age Wisdom presents Six Stages of Discipleship in which the seeker is given the nomenclature of ‘chela’. Helena P. Blavatsky in her book, The Theosophical Glossary⁶, defines a chela as a Disciple, the pupil of a Guru or Sage, or the follower of some adept of a school of philosophy. The chela is also attributed as one who seeks Spiritual Light, so basically the Disciple can be termed a student who seeks Knowledge as Light.

Stage One: Little Chelaship

The newly aspiring Disciple has little Spiritual aptitude and is required to learn the mandates towards self-discipline. They are primality contacted on the Physical Plane by a chela of a higher Light. This stage results in Recollection as the ‘teaching chela’ stirs Soul memory within the Little Chela. The personality is very much self-centered at this stage, however, the magnetic pull of Ray Two leads this chela into further studies and reflections and if heeded, lead to the Second Stage.

Stage Two: Chela in the Light

As the Disciple becomes more conscious of themselves as a personality and Soul, a higher ranking chela, still working in physical form, will institute contact with the Chela in the Light through the medium of the Higher Mental Plane. The goal is to affirm a Response from the chela which validates their Spiritual experience and in part begins the strident teachings towards self-discipline, discernment and detachment.

The previous two stages garner their own dangers, as the chela is prey to personal glamour and subsequent psychological and emotional attachments to the guru.

Stage Three: Accepted Discipleship.

Also known as “Pledged”. All the teachings towards discrimination are put to the test as the Disciple faces challenges within Duality. The contact is from a Master, be it incarnate or discarnate and it is important to detach from one’s personal glamour as a result of this contact. The contact is issued in a variety of manners which include, a vivid dream experience, a symbolic teaching, a thoughtform as directed from the Higher Mental Plane by the Master, a Spiritual contact during the meditation practice, and a cognitive recollection of an interview that has taken place upon the Higher Planes between both the Master and Disciple.

It successful, the Disciple is now imparted with the Knowledge of the Hierarchy, its role in the Divine Plan, the Nature of Duality, and the ability to stand in Radiance as a Point of Light. At this stage the Disciple ‘pledges’ to face their illusions and subsequent glamour’s, explore and affirm a role towards Service which benefits humanity, and most of all to learn control of the personality nature in order to become Soul-infused.

Stage Four: Chela on the Thread.

Also called ‘Initiated Disciple’.

Here, the real esoteric work begins as the chela uses the Breath and Respiration to enter the Higher Realms to gather the Wisdom required for their Role in Service. Their Knowledge of Soul Energy and its Laws is firmly established, the Antahkarana of a wholesome nature, and involvement in the Ashram affirmed. The focus of Life becomes the Will-to-Good. In this aspect, when the Initiated Disciple upon dealing with the world of Spirt and Matter requires clarification concerning an energetic distortion, an ‘emergency’ contact with the Master via the Antahkarana is granted by the Master. This contact is respected and given due application of responsibly on the part of the chela as pertains to their Service applications. Again, detachment, discernment and choice always prevail.

Stage Five: Chela within the Aura.

This refers to the aura of a Master or Ashram and involves the ability to contact the Master at Will when necessity demands. This stage is one of Re-Union as the chela can now perforce merge directly with the Master’s Vibration and/or the Group Ashramic vibration. The purpose exceeds that of seeking direction as was the case in Stage Four. Now, the chela is granted admission into the Heart of the Ashram to stand forward as a representative of the Master’s Quality and Vibration. The Third Initiation begins to enter its completion.

Stage Six: Chela within the Master’s Heart

To this stage is attributed the Fourth Initiation. The role in Service transfers directly to that of the Master and Ashram and this chela has very close contact with both. It offers a Reorientation in which a clearer vision of the Plan is presented. The Master holds this Chela dearly in the Heart with the Knowing that the trails and triumphs as experienced by the chela upon the Path reflect the chela’s Love-Wisdom.

In the coming Age of Aquarius, the Hierarchy is calling forth all awakened men and women to take their rightful place in the scheme of the Divine Plane. Disciples must always bear in mind that no one is a free agent and all are bound by Duty. The sooner this is embraced, the smoother will be our progress. The Master has no interest in molding a group of Disciples who parrot and adulate themselves, (both Master

and Disciples), for every Disciple is expected to think and choose for themselves, as an indication that the Master Within presents Its Self.

The first point which I would like to bring out is that accepted Disciples are in training for initiation. If, when they approach the Path of Discipleship they fail to grasp this fact and to give the fullest cooperation, they postpone the time of that initiation. (DINAI 437)

III. New Group of World Servers (NGWS)

Now you serve and work, and in so doing you are embarked upon a new and difficult voyage of discovery; you will discover reality progressively and arrive at whole areas of expression, because you serve. Resulting from this service, certain powers and energies will manifest, and your ability to use them will indicate to you, to your fellow Initiates and to the world that you are a worker, fully conscious upon the inner side of life. (DINAII 162)

Group Service entails a recognition of the Hierarchy as exponents of the Divine Plan, embossing all Ashrams entailed within, and Masters and Souls embedded with a similar Ray Vibration. The Group has pledged and bound themselves to Serve as Love, using their Will to stand as a beacon of Light upon both lower and higher Planes of Spiritual expression. Our entry into any group originates upon the Mental Plane, as we emit, either unconsciously or consciously vibrations that attract like vibrations. Sharing is the result of this sequence and searching for group affiliation in which to share is part of the Discipleship experience. When the time is deemed ripe and the Disciple has the ability to listen, the group is revealed. It is through the Intuitive response via the Buddhic Plane that the Disciple knows when a group approach is necessary for continued Soul-infusion and Spiritual progress.

Because we are rapidly approaching the Age of Aquarius, which is about the group and not necessarily the individual, the Hierarchy has placed a mandate upon the Ashrams to bring onto Plane Seven, the qualities of Ray Seven and create ‘Heaven on Earth’. Thus incarnate group of Disciples, and Initiates, are taught and directed upon commission of the Hierarchy the blueprint for the Divine Plan and its eventual dominion over humanity.

The Call is answered and the New Group of World Servers comes into being engendering all who seek and affirm Light to join as One Unit. It is a challenging time, and the NGWS, still in its infancy (in relation to historical time), is affirming its place within the Spiritual Hierarchy. They flow in unison with the Men and Women of Good-Will and strive to bring illumination and healing to a beleaguered and tired humanity. The NGWS draws towards itself individuals who range from newly awakened Aspirants, Soul infused personalities, Disciples and Initiates who work in symbiosis with a Ray Master and Ashram. Each member has a heartfelt dedication to cooperate with the Hierarchy, Sanat Kamura and Master Djwhal Khul.

Perforce this architecture for Service draws into its fold the Wisdom Teachings and emphasis on the Seven Rays. This united energy is further concretized by the daily meditation of the Great Invocation, further affirming the Hierarchal role in awakening humanity’s consciousness to that of the Soul’s Divine Nature.

Only those who are beginning to come under the influence and the control of their own Souls and are, therefore, mentally focused and attuned, are eligible for the training offered by the Hierarchy. (DINA1 2)

Summary

The trumpets of the Lord, the Soul, can sound forth and cause the walls of Jericho to fall. This task of evoking Soul action of a dynamic character on behalf of an imprisoned personality, impregnably surrounded by a wall of mental matter, will constitute a part of the science of psychology which the future will see developed. (EPII 228)

The avenues and paths in which the personality comes to the Divine Expression of Self are numerous and varied. Of the Seven Levels of Consciousness as presented within this Cosmic Physical Universe, Humanity is placed upon the Fourth Kingdom as a self-conscious entity. Natural evolution follows the arc into the Fifth Stage of Consciousness, that of the Kingdom of Souls which substantiates Group Consciousness. Our mandate, as Spiritual beings, is to move ever forward from a lower state of Consciousness into a Higher state of Consciousness. Pursuant to this effect, through the Teachings of the Ancient Ones and auspicious benevolence of a Spiritual Hierarchy, humanity is gifted with every opportunity to enter and enhance this Consciousness leap. Through the systemic procedures that lead the Aspirant into Discipleship and eventual Initiation, forced Initiation serves this purpose well, as it involves a cooperation which introduces the first unified mandate of soul in expression. The awakened Personality, Soul and the Hierarchy work towards a cohesive goal as per the Divine Plan.

We seek for we hear the Call of the Soul and the vibration of Love-Wisdom. New Age Wisdom provides the Science, Laws and Principles allowing for assimilation of Spiritual energies into concretized Matter, thus affirming and amplifying the initiation Process.

May the Winds of the Desert carry you over the Sands of Time and unfold the Golden Oasis within.
